Remember when he said ‘unpresidented?’ That’s Trump of course! Many in the US took the opportunity to distribute a free newspaper which extolled the fact that he had in fact been unpresidented. It was such a brilliant move at the time the campaign had been conducted back in 2019. It was too good to be true and in the minds of many it was a case of ‘if only it had been true’! In 2025 Trump is on the world’s stage once again and many shudder at the thought of countless batshit ideas this maligned President’s second term will possibly produce…

One might wonder where this is going especially on a blog about Deaf rights etc. Well its all to do with speech – that favourite subject of everybody’s – and the amount of fakery it can generate. Unpresidented isn’t even a word! Well it will be now Trump has said it. Besides, Trump once again hit the headlines the other week with “We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f*ck they’re doing.”
It was impressionable because instead of using rhetoric to generate war or other form of conflict, it was an attempt to stop war. A rare about turn in fact. There are so many conflicts in today’s world and these are impelled by those who have speech and a lot of conflict is undertaken on the basis of what has been largely rhetorical up to that point. That is the ‘real world’ as most see it. (More on that in another topic). What puzzles me greatly is the oft asserted view that Deaf people simply have no innings of any sort (its why jobs and opportunities are limited) and this is because hearing people have the view one simply must have speech in order to do many kinds of jobs, or even to be promoted to certain kinds of public portfolios – such as President, Prime Minister, politician, police officers, army personnel, railway workers, airline pilots and so many other things. The view is without speech there’s no way the Deaf are going to get any sort of look in, and no promotion or that sort of thing. Zilch. Nada.
Evidently there is a notion speech is absolutely essential for most things in life – including activity in the public sphere and also in government and other high profile areas. Many deem speech absolutely essential for social cohesion, for understanding others – and for negotiating effectively and so on.
Then there’s this thing about Deaf people not being able to do things because of the need for speech! Even the art of perhaps learning speech under an Oral regime does no wonders – and Deaf people often find themselves in jobs that are basically permanent demotion.
Okay, so the question one must ask is, if speech is so important, why are humans – or rather hearing people – constantly at war? Why can’t they understand nor get on with others? Speech and hearing are meant to be the tools by which a considerable amount of cohesion is effected. But it seems its getting to an extent where countries are advocating nuclear Armageddon across every single boundary of the political and geographical divide.
So many times we’ve seen many instances where one side says something – you know the usual threats and the rest of it – and then missiles are fired and the rest of it. Then other side issues edicts and claims the offending side are evil and the rest of it. And then they fire missiles back. Its evidently an insane endeavour, and its populated by leaders who can only shout in an arty farty sort of way.
In short such fatuous leaders happen to be everywhere and their modus is the dispensation of what can only be utter drivel which is a precursor for eventual armed conflict of some sort. There’s no doubt its extremely dangerous too. Oralists are so fond of pointing out that speech and hearing are important – and it is their view the Deaf must almost certainly without a doubt be assimilated into that medium. Yet what can be observed ‘out there’ can only be construed as a f*cked up, crazed, manic and totally batshit world. Its certainly something for the Oralists to be very proud of! Perhaps the Oralists ought to learn BSL (or perhaps ASL, BISINDO, ISL, LESHO, LSB, LBS, LSCH, LSF, DGS, JSL, RSL, SASL etc) and join our world where no armies can be found, no wars are conducted, no borders exist (not those ones in the hearing world anyway) and we don’t have those f*cking stupid nukes either!

When Trump said ‘f*ck’ the world suddenly took notice, there was a point that was being made even though it probably wasn’t obvious to most. And there is a very simple reason why that is. Only a hearing person can become President or Prime Minister, whatever. It follows on from that there are loads of despots and undemocratic leaders who are hearing and they are undoubtedly (and impressionably) male and almost without a doubt quite incompetent. In the grand plan of things, its not exactly the fact as to whether Trump had said f*ck or not, but that so much is stood in stealth by way of power, weaponry, and quite conceivably there’s a full tome of vile rhetoric that is available in order to back up every threat being made. And its delivered by those of a certain brethren.
There’s a lot of rhetoric which pushes the nuclear clock incrementally closer and closer to midnight. The only reason it has not yet reached midnight could be down to Zeno’s Paradox. Those last few nanometres around the clockface are hard to achieve. In any event there’s what’s known as a phase transition. In terms of his sanity levels Trump could quite easily achieve a full target placement upon the precise apocalyptic hour itself. The most concerning thing is Trump is not the only leader who has that potentiality – for there are others who can easily achieve that too. Those who have read the rest of this post will be in no doubt what sort of humans these others happen to be… And its the one whose world the Oralists seem to think the Deaf must fully assimilate.
